Determination Of Acid Insoluble Ash In Food Products
Hydrochloric acid-insoluble ash analysis is carried out to determine the amount of hydrochloric acid-insoluble mineral substances in feed. Two methods are generally used in the Determination of Ash Insoluble in Hydrochloric Acid.
Method A: Test method applied to feeds consisting mainly of organic substances. In this method, the sample feed is turned into ash. It is boiled in hydrochloric acid and filtered and the residues are weighed.
Method B: Test method applied to feeds consisting mainly of mineral substances and containing more than 1%. The sample feed is first exposed to hydrochloric acid. The resulting solution is filtered and the residue is subjected to Method A after being reduced to ash.
