Vibration Hazards in the Workplace

It is important to determine the Vibration Exposure in order to prevent the health and safety risks that may occur as a result of the employees being exposed to mechanical vibration in the working environment. It specifies the minimum requirements within the scope of the “Regulation on Protection of Employees from Vibration-Related Risks”.

Within the scope of the regulation, there are exposure limit values related to Hand-arm Vibration and Whole Body Vibration measurements.

a) For hand-arm vibration;
1) Daily exposure limit value for eight hours of work: 5 m/s2.
2) Daily exposure action value for eight hours of work: 2.5 m/ s2.

b) For whole body vibration;
1) Daily exposure limit value for eight hours of work: 1.15 m/s 2.
2) Daily exposure action value for eight hours of work: 0.5 m/s2.
