For special occasions, for daily use, for sports activities, orthopedic shoes or work shoes… There are many features sought in shoes produced in different colors and styles. Considering the human health of a shoe, some tests and analyzes are carried out. Chemical tests and analyzes performed on shoes can be listed as follows.

- Determination of Di-N-Octyltin (DOT)
- Determination of Organotin Compounds
- Determination of Phthalates
- Determination of Dimethyl Fumarate (DMFu)
- Determination of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH)

Chemical tests carried out on shoes are carried out to prevent the ingestion of toxic substances into the human body, especially due to skin contact. Apart from chemical tests, different tests and analyzes are applied especially on work shoes.

Work shoes are generally tested under the following standards:
EN ISO 20345: Personal protective equipment - Safety footwear
EN ISO 20347: Personal protective equipment - Work footwear

Work shoes are tested according to these standards and then classified:
SB: Basic security
S1: Antistatic, shock absorbing heel area, oil resistant sole
S1P: Antistatic, shock absorbing heel area, oil resistant sole, steel midsole
S2: Antistatic, shock absorbing heel area, oil resistant sole, water resistant
S3: Antistatic, shock absorbing heel area, oil resistant sole, water resistant, steel midsole

Shoes undergo tests and analyzes according to their purpose and usage areas. Depending on the results of the analysis, shoes can be offered to consumers.
