ISO/TS 16179 - Determination of Organotin Compounds in Footwear Materials

Specifies a test method to determine the presence of organotin compounds in all kinds of shoe materials within the scope of ISO/TS 16179 standard.

Test Procedure
- Organotin substances are extracted from shoe material with a methanol-ethanol mixture.
- Then organotin is converted to sodium tetraethylborate, equipped with NaB(Et)-alkyl-equipped with volatile derivatives.

- Monosubstituted (n-butyltin trichloride , n-octyltin trichloride)
- Disubstituted (Di-n-butyltin dichloride) or fentin chloride), Tricyclohexyltin chloride)
- Tetrasubstituted (Tetra-n-butyltin)
