Many products such as cosmetics, personal care products, biocidal products should be evaluated in terms of skin health due to their direct and long-term contact with the skin. These products pass through many tests and analyzes and reach the consumers by obtaining approval for use. One of the tests applied in cosmetic and biocidal products is "Irritation Analysis".Irritation can be defined as irritation that may occur on the skin due to chemical substances. Cosmetic products and especially biocidal products can be offered for sale with the relevant permit and registration based on the results of many analyzes. In this context, irritation analysis is an important test parameter.
Irritation tests are performed in vitro to determine in vivo skin irritation in human epidermis (RhE) tissues. The test results are evaluated as follows: Classified as an irritant if its relative viability is ≤ 50%.
Skin irritation test is one of the important test parameters that should be performed in accredited and authorized laboratories.
